TAL-Vocoder is a free vocoder VST, Audio Unit, AAX plugin developed by Togu Audio Line. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS, Linux.

TAL-Vocoder is a vintage vocoder emulation with 11 bands that emulates the sound of vocoders from the early 80s. It includes analog-modeled components in combination with digital algorithms such as the SFFT (Short-Time Fast Fourier Transform). It includes an envelope follower for each of the eleven bands.

This vocoder is optimized for voice processing and includes some algorithms for consonants to make the voice more intelligible. The carrier signal is a VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) with a Pulse, Saw, Noise and Sub Osc. But it’s also possible to use the left stereo input as carrier, this way every sound source can be used as carrier signal.

SuperSpread

SuperSpread is a free pitch shifter and stereo imaging VST, VST3, Audio Unit plugin developed by lkjb. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

SuperSpread uses multiple pitch shifters to spread a signal thus allowing supersawing any input it is given.

Besides using it on any synths it is also a handy tool to create pseudo double tracking for guitars or to a lesser extend vocals. In case of guitars, it is best applied on a clean DI recording before amp simulations.

stwETCH

stwETCH is a free pitch shifter and time stretcher VST plugin developed by whiteLABEL. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

stwETCH is a playable granular time-stretching / buffer repeater effect capable of stretching up to 500% normal length using granule sizes ranging from 10 to 500 ms, meaning that relatively smooth and total whack-job are both possibilities here. Further to this there are 2 pitch controls: one that controls granule playback speed, aka speed control (like tape), and one that controls pitch-shift, aka pitch (like a pitchshifter).

stwETCH was designed as a control surface playable instrument – in a similar vain to wavePLAY. It is entirely monophonic and whilst it has MIDI support, it won’t respond to any plain old note-on data. stwETCH wants nothing but CCs – even the play switch. So, play it from a control surface (or VST automation parameters) or use MIDI CC – just don’t expect it to respond to you playing the notes on a keyboard.

SoundScaper

SoundScaper is capable of Reverb, Echo and Comb effects. It was designed primarily as way of creating atmospheric landscapes in the tradition of past HGSounds creations. It has almost infinite feedback time for many modes, and so is capable of producing rich and complex drones when used with a continuous sound source. It can also be used as a traditional reverb or echo suitable for any application.

SoundScaper has a diverse range of sonic possibilities using 300 datasets of comb/allpass timings, each providing a different effect model. Each of these modes can then be set to one of 33 different Multipliers (Styles) which take it through tight comb based effects, to reverbs and finally echo banks.

As with all HGS plug-ins, instant gratification is built in with a randomization system that will always result in a unique and usable patch, plus randomizers for each individual section. The plugin was initially based on Freeverb, though has been expanded and highly optimized using SSE making it a lightweight plugin with a small CPU footprint.
