Rotating Space is a free stereo imaging VST plugin developed by Florian Königstein. Compatible OS(s): Windows.
“Rotating Space” is a freeware VST effect plug-in for Windows: A 3D panner based on Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs).
Rotating Space simulates a sound source (the stereo input signal) which rotates around up to ten arbitrarily definable axes. You must use headphones to hear the effect. Consider the following arrangement: The stereo input signal is played with two speakers. Over the time the virtual speakers will move around the listener while the distance to the listener keeps constant. You can determine the way in which the speakers move.
Version 1.1.0 offers some improvements over version 1.0.0:
- There are 10 processing units (PUs). Each of them can be configured to rotate or mirror one or both of the virtual speakers. Further more they can be used to rotate or mirror the rotation axis of the next PU.
- Each PU act like an oscillator which periodically changes the angle of rotation or the amount of mirroring. The phase of this oscillator can now be selected, and it’s easier to set the frequency of an oscillator to be exactly an integer multiply of another oscillator.
- A “global frequency” slider can be used to scale the frequencies of all the oscillators simultaneously.
- There are new interesting presets.
