SonicPhoto

SonicPhoto free audio-converter by Skytopia

SonicPhoto is a free audio converter plugin developed by Skytopia. Compatible OS(s): Windows .

SonicPhoto is an audio program to convert from pictures, photos and drawings to sound. Each picture has its own ‘signature’, and SonicPhoto will allow you to hear what the picture sounds like.

Higher parts in the picture create higher pitches, while lower areas create deeper tones. Likewise, brighter areas make that tone louder (and darker areas, quieter).

Also included is an instrument/harmony feature so you can create stunning tonal sounds, such as sparkling synths, rippling arpeggios, howling winds, deep organs, dazzling lasers, roaring bass and metallic drones.

Features include:

  • Create an infinite variety of sounds ranging based on the patterns in any picture.
  • Instrument and harmony quantization so you can create tonal sounds.
  • Dozens of in-built presets, so you can immediately try sounds out and experiment.
  • Convincing stereo is automatically added to all sounds.
  • Very easy to use GUI with everything you need at a click of a button.
  • Well thought out system to loading and save custom projects.
  • Instantly adjust the quality to suit your needs (low for preview, high for final result).

Uses:

Experimental composers will appreciate the otherworldly sounds SonicPhoto can produce with ease. Sounds lasting up to an hour in length can provide a backing soundtrack to a film, or be mixed with a piece of music to enrich the atmosphere.

On the shorter end of the time scale, sounds lasting less than half a second can be rendered, with all the aforementioned options such as tonality and frequency adjustment to hone the sound to your requirements.

Paint2Sound

Paint2Sound free software-synthesizer | audio-converter by DocNashSynths

Paint2Sound is a free software synthesizer and audio converter developed by DocNashSynths. Available format(s): for Windows .

Paint2Sound converts any loaded .jpg or .bmp image, or any picture you care to draw/paint with it, into a soundscape.

Each pixel row of the image represents a frequency band. The application synthesizes sine waves from each pixel row with an instantaneous amplitude determined by the brightness of each pixel in the pixel row, and then sums together all the sine waves.

User control is provided over various parameters such as sample rate, sound duration, the distribution of frequencies across the pixel rows and the overall level in the mix of each sine wave.

EnDiskEx

ZynAddSubFX free software-synthesizer by paulnasca 2

EnDiskEx is a free audio converter plugin developed by EnDiskEx. Compatible OS(s): Windows, macOS, Linux.

EnDiskEx is a command-line tool that automates bulk extraction of instruments, sequences, songs, and banks from Ensoniq-formatted disk images (RAW, GKH, EDE, and EDA) for the EPS/ASR family of samplers. The extracted files are saved as EFE / SMF / TXT files.

EnDiskEx is explicitly aimed at extracting banks for recreation within a different DAW with as much automation as possible. It will track down the instrument and song files even if they were saved on another disk. There exists a powerful mapping feature to correct for any errors in this process which has been found to be useful for ‘correcting’ issues seen by the authors.

EnDiskEx has been tested and validated against a variety of RAW, GKH, EDE, and EDA images files found on the Internet at one time or another, including but not limited to the ASR factory disks, the EPS 16+ factory disks, and the EPS (classic) factory disks.
