XT-EQ Equalizer

XT-EQ Equalizer free eq by Harrison

XT-EQ Equalizer is a free equalizer LV2 plugin developed by Harrison. Compatible OS(s): Windows, macOS.

The XT-EQ Equalizer features a revolutionary filter shape that was originally designed for precision speaker management. Unlike a conventional EQ, when 2 or more adjacent bands are adjusted, the shape is “flat” across the top. This avoids the “comb filter” shape of a typical multiband EQ. The resulting sound is smooth and transparent.

Adjusting the EQ is fast and effortless. Just click and drag your mouse to draw the EQ shape that you want, or use the mouse wheel to boost and cut each band individually. Made a change you didn’t like? Clear bands with a right-click drag. You can go back to square-one in a matter of seconds. You can also create a desired filter in one swipe, and then smooth the bands by holding shift and scrubbing. The XT-EQ Equalizer can be used for carving your tracks into shape, leaving the Mixbus channel EQs free to make the artistic changes needed for your mix.

Features:

  • Harrison XT-EQ Equalizer plugin with 10 control bands.
  • Innovative DSP curve-match allows a “flat top” across adjacent bands.
  • Ultra-fidelity equalizer based on Harrison’s XTool plugins for digital consoles.

VSTplug whiteblack

VSTplug whiteblack free saturation | eq by King Oz Records

VSTplug whiteblack is a free saturation and eq VST plugin developed by King Oz Records. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

This is a beta, but it’ll be sure to become a fan favorite.

This is the white black, the simplest, smoothest way to make a vocal pop. The knobs are still being made right, this is a beta but worth a try.

VSTplug is a coalition of programmers getting together to release the most elite of VST plugins available on the internet.

Whiteblack is an experimental design that adds mid and side as well as width and saturation effects to provide a method which makes vocals (especially) sound a lot better. But, since making this beta there are new VSTplug developments which should allow the passive addition of both mid and side, meaning that stereo need not be affected and any instance of phase cancellation can be altogether avoided.

Please stay tuned for updates to this product.

VSTplug freq

VSTplug freq free eq by King Oz Records

VSTplug freq is a free equalizer VST plugin developed by King Oz Records. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

The Freq is one of the better EQ’s made by Phonix (Nick Johnstone), and I like it a great deal. But I wanted to make something like the FL studio EQ with a glossy smooth sound, especially due to the fact that it wasn’t very 4k or 8k screen friendly. This re-make makes that possible to a degree but the code base has limitations and in that regard this beta will be the last of the line.

The first version of freq is found here:
https://rekkerd.org/nix-plugs/

And the second version is found here:
http://www.phonicsaudio.com/

I think Nick for making this great EQ and I wanted to show My appreciation for this effect by providing this useful tool for fans of the EQ who have larger screens and don’t like fiddling with knobs.

This is a beta with no known issues. The issue in coding it right now is setting a max q-bell width maximum. It doesn’t affect any other bands but the bass. Be careful not to make that q-width (resonance) too high.

Stays at about 1% CPU usage.

Stay tuned for a final update which makes the operation a bit smoother and has a different preset count which should allow automation.

Triple EQ

Triple EQ free eq by Blue Cat Audio

Triple EQ is a free equalizer VST, VST3, Audio Unit, RTAS, AAX, DirectX plugin developed by Blue Cat Audio. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

Blue Cat’s Triple EQ is an easy-to-use 3-band semi-parametric equalizer. It includes a low shelf filter, a high shelf filter and a boost/cut peak filter. Its wide range of gain (+/-40 dB per band) and bandwidth (.01 to 5 Octave) makes it very versatile. The three filters are linked together so that when you change the center frequency or the bandwidth, the three filter parameters are changed accordingly: you can change the entire equalizer characteristics with one single mouse click making any equalization task very easy and intuitive.

The graph shows the computed frequency response of the plug-in, so that you can exactly know how your signal is processed. This is not an approximated or “ideal” response curve based on the controls of the user interface, but the exact computed frequency response of the filter, which makes this plug-in a true WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) equalizer.

Main Features:

  • WYSIWYG 3-band semi-parametric equalizer.
  • Filters designed after analog circuits.
  • +-40 dB range on each band.
  • Automatic gain compensation.
  • No latency.
  • Real time display of the frequency response.
  • Native DSP code for optimal performance.
  • Random preset generation: auto generate custom presets with one single click.
  • ‘Smooth Update Mechanism’: real-time parameter modification with zipper-free parameter updates. Hear absolutely no ‘click’ when playing with parameters.
  • Full automation support (all parameters can be automated, with smooth and continuous update).
  • Any sample rate supported.
  • DirectX version: supports 32-bits floating point as well as 16 / 8 bits PCM audio streams.

Triple EQ supports “Blue Cat’s Skinning language”, allowing you to customize the plug-in to your own needs.

Toned

Toned free eq by LVC-Audio

Toned is a free equalizer VST, VST3, Audio Unit, RTAS, AAX plugin developed by LVC-Audio. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

Toned is a specialized tone shaping plugin with analog modeling. It is designed primarily for use in the mastering process or on two-track audio busses. Toned uses two distinct equalization processes: a three-band tone-shaping matrix, and a specially designed high pass (HP) filter.

The three-band tone-shaping matrix uses a crossover-style filter bank of first-order filters (-6dB per octave). This type of equalization produces very gentle and broad filtering, with minimal alteration of phase. Very wide boosts and cuts can be accomplished while still sounding natural. This style of equalization also mimics some of the interactions between frequency bands that are commonly found in passive analog EQs and analog tone controls. The tone-shaping matrix can be applied to stereo channels, or specifically to the mid or side channel. Additionally, Toned can be switched to use a two-band matrix.

The HP filter is specifically designed for accurately adjusting the low/sub bass energy. The filter has selectable Q and roll-off. The scale of the HP controls is specific to low bass, and ranges from 10 Hz to 50 Hz (with accuracy to 0.01 Hz). Just like the tone controls, the HP filter can be applied to the stereo channels, or specifically target the mid or side channel.

In addition to all of the tone and HP filter controls, Toned also includes an analog modeling engine to simulate the sound of hardware devices. The Toned analog sound consists of numerous parameters to simulate the unique frequency characteristics, saturation, self-noise, and other nuances of high-quality analog equipment. There is also a feedback control to simulate the effect of using negative feedback within an analog amplifier path.

Toned also includes many standard LVC-Audio features. This includes:

  • Delay and phase compensated mix control.
  • Adjustable input and output metering with peak and loudness meters.
  • Internal 64-bit precision with 2x fixed oversampling rate.
  • Knob controllers with fine- and superfine- control, and built-in A-B comparison.

System Requirements and Specifications:

  • Windows: VST, VST3, RTAS, and AAX plugin formats. Toned requires Windows XP SP 3 or newer with a processor that supports SSE2 (AMD or Intel processor from around 2004 or later). An iLok device is required to use the AAX format.
  • OS X: AU, VST, VST3, RTAS, and AAX plugin formats. Toned requires OS X 10.5 or later, and an Intel processor. An iLok device is required to use the AAX format.
