UpStereo is a simple, useful tool to make your mixes bigger, in stereo width and loudness.

It uses three basic basic systems:

A fixed frequency EQ designed to lift the highest audio frequencies, and boost the bass.

A stereo width unit, for expanding stereo sounds so they appear wider and fatter. At extreme levels other characteristics are also brought out of the sound, so this can also be used as a tonal control for individual instruments. This also has a mono setting, useful for squashing up those aggressive samples that take over the mix.

A loudness button that raises the waveform to the limits in a smooth curve. This saturation gives the mix a more perceived loudness, without clipping.

These stages create an overall loudness effect on the final output, so a gain control is included to keep the limits in check.

The main ‘bubble’ display on the plug-in is really a basic meter, when one of the stereo halves flash white, then the output is in danger of being clipped. Try and keep the levels so the white flashes only occasionally, this enables the loudness saturator to work at its best.

UltraPhazer is a multi oscillated phaser plugin for Windows and OS X hosts. It sounds very cool on guitar tracks and on raw saw sound. But also a very subtle phazer effect can be generated with this plugin. It can also be used as stereo enhancer and auto panner.

Two Convolution Reverb Mixer + Parametric EQ

Two Convolution Reverb Mixer + Parametric EQ is a free reverb VST, Audio Unit plugin developed by Mark Robinson. Compatible OS(s): macOS.

I made this for a project to do with convolution reverbs.

The plugin itself allows for two impulse responses. They can be mixed between as desired and each one can be gained separately.

This then goes through a parametric EQ (nothing particularly special I’m afraid.)

Both the reverb and EQ can be bypassed as desired as well.

I have not got any impulse responses to add to the project but it runs from any mp3 impulse.

Would love to hear feedback. Just playing around basically and want to share.

(The design is a bit rubbish but I’m not known for my designs)

Twin Reeler

Twin Reeler – The Free Vibrato Effect Plugin

The Twin Reeler is a modulation effect, producing a reeling stereo vibrato by twisting the time scale with a different modulation function on each output channel. The plugin can be used as a simple vibrato on a mono signal path, add space to mono-to-stereo signals with moderate parameter settings, or create lurching chaos by turning the knobs up.

The feature that distinguishes Twin Reeler from a standard vibrato plugin is the random modulation modes. Both width and depth can be set to take random values throughout the processing. This means that the modulation curves will change during play-back, making the vibrato effect more varied and unpredictable compared to a standard vibrato plugin. Of course you can also select to use Twin Reeler in fixed mode to achieve a classic vibrato effect, with a constant modulation curve.

Parameters

Width min/max

Minimum and maximum width of the modulation function. Higher values will result in a slower vibrating effect.

Width random/fixed mode

In random mode, the width of each modulation phase will be randomized to a value between current min and max parameter values. In fixed mode, width is constant and takes the current value of the max parameter.

Depth min/max

Minimum and maximun depth of the modulation function. Higher values will result in a deeper vibrato effect, altering the pitch of the sound more.

Depth random/fixed mode

In random mode, the depth of each modulation phase will be randomized to a value between current min and max parameter values. In fixed mode, depth is constant and takes the current value of the max parameter.

Synch on/off

By default, each output channel will have its own independent modulation function. When synchronization is turned on, one common function is used for all output channels.

Synch offset

When synchronization is turned on, the common modulation function can be offset between the output channels.
