SOOG virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Reaktor, by Icebreaker Audio.

S.O.O.G. (Sub Octave Oscillator Generator) is an analogue style octaver effect for Reaktor 5.8+.

The effect produces a fuzzy version of the input signal, by generating a modulated square wave one octave below the tracked pitch. This fuzzy octave can then be filtered to smooth out the tone, or to create synth style sounds.

The effect works best on monophonic instruments with strong fundamental frequencies like bass guitars or clear vocals.

Small Saw

Small Saw virtual instrument is a free ethnic sound bank for Kontakt, by Cmusic Production.

Usually Small Saw is used by artists of the original genre. It has a specific sound issued with the help of a violin bow. We decided to make this tool and see what will come of it.

SM Drums for Ableton

SM Drums for Ableton virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Live, by Critical Vibrations.

SM Drums for Ableton is the Ableton-compatible version of the free vintage acoustic drum library SM Drums. The work of Scott McLean, Tod StillWell, D Smolken, and Suleiman Ali, the original library is available for Kontakt, Reaper, TX16WX as well as SFZ format.

The drum sampled is an impeccable Ludwig Oyster Blue Pearl kit from the 1960s, owned and played by Scott McLean. The deep sampled library includes up to 64 velocity layers and up to 8 round robins. Recorded at 44.1kHz/24-bit, there are 3600+ samples totalling 3.7GB.

Simply Space

Simply Space virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Kontakt, by 99Sounds.

Simply Space is a free collection of melodic pad hits and background sonic textures crafted by Nigel Good. The sound library was designed to blend perfectly with all typical chords for a given key, making it possible to layer the included sounds underneath any given chord progression, melody or riff.

The samples are provided in the keys of C and G, however they can easily be transposed to different keys simply by tuning up or down. It’s also worth noting that the included sounds can be transformed into tension builders and classic EDM style build-up sounds simply by being reversed in an audio editor.

Apart from the royalty free sample content, the library also includes a collection of 34 NKI patches which can be used with Native Instruments Kontakt 5 or above. The provided NKI patches make it possible to play the included melodic hits as standard pad and lead sounds.

Powered by a customized version of WIPS Scripts (with the given permission of customizing it by its author Robert D. Villwock), Simple Flute is just a simple well-sounding flute for Kontakt. Thanks to the scripting engine and the sampling method used, they’ve realized a very playable instrument, which can be played at any tempos, has a controllable amount of vibrato, three phase locked dynamic layers, legato control, two (long and short) articulations, 3 Round Robin for the short articulations, micro tuning presets and a wide selection of impulse reverb presets.

A Shruti Box is a small hand-pumped wooden instrument that provides a rich drone background as support to singing or playing almost any instrument.

The use of the Shruti Box has widened with the cross-cultural influences of world music and new age music, providing a drone for many other instruments not typically associated with it.

While normally it has been associated with Indian Music, the Shruti box is enjoying a renaissance in the West amongst traditional and contemporary musicians who are using it for a range of different styles.
