Taiko

Taiko virtual instrument is a free percussions and taiko sound bank for Kontakt, by Prisma Sounds.

Taiko is a free Kontakt instrument based on Subaqueous music Free Taiko Drum Rack and S. Christian Collins’s port for Sforzando. As we made plenty of use of these samples, we decided to bring this instrument to Kontakt. We took the chance to add a few more controls on the instrument for some soud design fun, such as:

Velocity to Volume control;

3-band equalizer;

ADSR filter;

An FX tab with: Distortion, Saturation, Delay and Compression;

An arpeggiator module.

So… what else? Our work here is done, have fun.

Synthetic Vortice

Synthetic Vortice virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Sforzando, by SampleScience.

Synthetic Vortices is an ambient sample library produced using an Ensoniq Fizmo synthesizer. Each sample is seamlessly looped using the accompanied sfz mapping files. The sfz mapping adds amplifier eg controls, and high pass and low pass resonant filters with their own LFOs. To take advantage of these controls, we suggest Plogue’s Sforzando (free).

String Cyborgs

String Cyborgs virtual instrument is a free bass sound bank for Sforzando, by Karoryfer.

The three String Cyborgs – Zinc, Blackheart and Ironface – are a bank for Plogue sforzando. They use the processed and looped sounds of bowed strings (cello and double bass) as oscillators, and place them in a synthesizer architecture with unison, detune, filters and even some humanization parameters. The goal is to create more organic variations of classic analog synthesizer sounds.

Up to five unison voices.

Randomized sample playback start points and phase relationships between voices.

Choice of long or single-cycle samples.

All samples looped for infinite sustain.

AHDSR volume envelope.

Detune and width controls.

Vibrato and tremolo LFO.
