Caveman Cosmonaut is an anachronistic instrument using samples of a 1980s Unitra B 11 transistor organ with modern modulations.

Velocity Sensitivity, Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release and Vibrato controls (sfz).

Introduction:
The Casio MT-68 was a very affordable analog synthesizer sold in the 80’s that had miniature keys, 20 preset sounds and a rhythm section with auto accompaniment. It can be heard on various recordings and has an interesting 80’s or ‘retro’ sound. If you grew up with this synthesizer and wished you could hear it again, here is a chance to play it once more in Kontakt 5 and SFZ format.

SFZ is an open format and sfz sample players that fully support this library are available for current computer platforms. See the link below to install a free sfz player.

Great care was taken to record the MT68 with the best equipment and minimal processing so the original sound and character is preserved. All notes and beats were sampled and looped to offer the most complete virtual version of this classic synth for years to come. This was my first synthesizer, and I offer it’s sounds to my friends and fellow musicians who might be as fond of it as I am.

Note:

This library requires Kontakt 5 or a software sampler that can import sfz 2.0 instruments, or an sfz 2.0 player.

Tested in ARIA Player, Plogue Sforzando and Kontakt 5.

Full MT68 Beats and Fills provided at slowest tempo in the Loops folder (sfz).

Canjo

Canjo virtual instrument is a free canjo and banjo sound bank for Kontakt, by Embertone.

Embertone’s Canjo is a free instrument for Kontakt FULL (not the player) 4.2.4+. It is a buzzy, twangy, single-stringed instrument with a lot of personality.

The main instrument includes three articulations: fingered, picked, and muted. There are also lots of round robins and dynamic layers, which makes the instrument feel very natural.

What exactly is a Canjo? This might help (from Henry Hoover’s dedicated Canjo website):

A Canjo is a single string musical instrument. It is held like a guitar but may also be played on a table or lap. The neck is made of furniture grade kiln dried hard wood hand rubbed with boiled linen seed oil. On the neck fretted diatonically (like a dulcimer including a 6-1/2 fret) are twelve notes or finger positions.

The instrument includes an arpeggiator that will infuse an awesome rhythm into your music.

BPB Cassette 808

BPB Cassette 808 virtual instrument is a free drums sound bank for Kontakt, by Bedroom Producers Blog.

BPB Cassette 808 is a free collection of Roland TR-808 drum machine samples in 24-bit WAV format. The sounds were recorded by Gregor Zemljic in his mastering studio, passed through a high end signal chain and enhanced with a subtle LF boost. An additional set of drum hits that were re-sampled from an audio cassette deck is also included, providing a different take on the classic 808 drum sound.

The pack contains a set of three instrument patches for NI Kontakt 5. These NKI patches feature a simple customized user interface providing direct access to the low-pass filter, envelope, reverb and delay controls.

Bowed Glass Clouds

Bowed Glass Clouds virtual instrument is a free percussions sound bank for Kontakt, by Riot Audio.

Introduction

BOWED GLASS CLOUDS is Riot Audio‘s first release – a cinematic morphing pad instrument running in Kontakt 5.8 and above. It is based on recordings of bowed resonant glass bowls and jars, as well as a few selected sound design sources including a household hoover, and an Ebow-driven resonator guitar.

BOWED GLASS CLOUDS makes use of Kontakt’s AET Filter technology to seamlessly morph between layers of sound, both tonal and non-tonal. The instrument has a simple GUI allowing for controls for the morphing within each layer (A and B) as well as adjustment of balance between these layers. Other controls include distortion, BP filter, delay and reverb as well as three-band parametric EQ.

Kontakt Instrument

BOWED GLASS CLOUDS is a one-page Kontakt instrument designed for ease of use and immediate results.

Much of the appeal of our CLOUDS engine derives from how it generates movement between different sample sources and groups. It contains two layers, A and B, each of which in turn contains a base sublayer and a target sublayer, i.e. four layers in total.

Bear Sax

Bear Sax virtual instrument is a free saxophone sound bank for Sforzando, by Karoryfer.

Bear Sax is a free open-source sample library of a 1926 Conn baritone saxophone. It was originally released on April 1 with an April Fool’s GUI and description claiming it was a giant flute made from the thighbone of a Siberian bear.

Badass

Badass virtual instrument is a free bass sound bank for Kontakt, by DCSI.

Badass is a free sample based Kontakt instrument produced by DCSI.

Wrapped in a 30 MB instrument size it’s a sampled and edited old school bass synth, spread across 3 octaves, coming with some optional gritty flavour added by using the modwheel of your controller, plus a delay effect and several play modes.

Badass plays at its best with the mono/unisono settings on, available on the GUI.
