Free Drum Samples is a free collection of select electronic drum hits from Samplefino’s commercially available Analogue Drum Samples and Analogue Kick Drum products.

The free pack contains 55 Drumcomputer MFB-522 drum machine samples and 5 additional kick drum samples which were synthesized with the Analogue Kick Drum virtual instrument. The pack also includes instrument patches for Native Instruments Kontakt, FXpansion Geist and One Small Clue Poise.

The included sample content is royalty free.

The sound library Exposure is dedicated to a memory of Tim Conrardy (1957 – 2009).

Egyptian Darabuka (Lite) V1.1

Egyptian Darabuka (Lite) V1.1 virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Kontakt and Exs24, by Mahmoud Altaf.

This is a sample library of a beautiful Darabuka that I’ve received as a gift and thought it would make a great addition to use in my projects, especially since I’ve sampled certain articulations that I mostly use. This Darabuka was recorded with 4 dynamic layers per articulation and with 2 dynamic layers for the rolls. I haven’t recorded any RRs, but you’ll find that there are enough articulations and velocity layers to create a fairly realistic performance with it.

The Darabuka was captured in mono using the AKG 420 Perception microphone, which really brought out the clarity of the instrument while retaining the body. I’ve included a MIDI file performance using the instrument, which will give you an idea of how to use the instrument.

I’ll be further expanding on this instrument in the future by recording lots of Round Robins than I originally did, more articulations, and a couple more mic positions. In the meantime, please enjoy using this simple but articulate instrument.

E-Ukulele (free)

E-Ukulele (free) virtual instrument is a free ukulele sound bank for Kontakt, by audiowiesel.

We sampled an electronic ukulele (Les Paul model) from Epiphone. At the beginning it was just a fun project and we kept adding new sample content for private use only. Now, we decided to make this available to the public as free download in order to let everybody use this in their own productions.

All samples in E-Ukulele are mixed totally dry in order to give you the greatest amount of flexibility. This way you have total freedom of spatial placement and the role E-Ukulele plays in your production (like a melodic or background instrument).

We hope that you have at least the same amount of fun we experienced with this instrument. Use it, abuse it and please share your work with us and the public and talk about our libraries with your friends.

Important note: In order to use E-Ukulele you have to have the full version of Native Instruments’ Kontakt 5.3 (or higher). This library does not work with the free Kontakt Player.

Dr.UMS Lite

Dr.UMS Lite virtual instrument is a free drums sound bank for Kontakt, by Prisma Sounds.

Dr.UMS Lite is the free little brother of Dr.UMS, a Kontakt sampled version of the Boss Dr. Rhythm DR-550. The DR-550 a stepping stone in the drum machine territory, delivering its 48-pieces kit sounds to the reach of the first home-producers. It featured an LCD to program patterns, choosing the sounds and adding basic effects.

Prisma Sounds Dr.UMS was made sampling each kit piece from the original DR-550 at 24-bit, whose accent control is mapped to velocity. It comprehends two instruments: one where the sounds are laid out according to the standard drum map, with the option to select kit pieces, or spread out the keyboard to provide complete layering freedom. Additionally, Dr.UMS offers the possibility to control the release of samples, the reverb settings and to add a Lofi effect. Dr.UMS Lite offers all the same functionalities as Dr.UMS in a more compact form, limited only by the amount of samples.
