Danaides is a sequenced sound mangler with a powerful modulation section.

It gives you the ability to route the input signal through a filter and three sound destruction effect processors : a “driller” that will loop and repitch very small slices of the signal, a “metalizer” delay and a samplerate reducer.

With the built-in effect and dry-wet sequencers, you can generate various tempo-synced effect phrases and modulate the overall depth of the effect.

Danaides includes a powerful LFO section with flexible routing and waveform morph.

Additional features include the ability to resize the plugin interface to fit your display (Windows and OS X only), share your presets between plugin formats and platforms, map your MIDI controller easily using the built-in MIDI learn system, trigger presets using MIDI program changes, as well as a TouchOSC layout to give you instant MIDI control of all the parameters.

Daft Funk

Daft Funk is a free glitch and pitch shifter and filter VST plugin developed by KlangLabs. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Daft Funk is a “Glitch accelerator”.

Features:

X-Y panel: X controls speed, Y controls LowPass Filter and volume optionally.

Mode: “Pitched” means the wave will be resampled as speed is being modulated; “Grainy” means the wave will not change pitch but the grains will change size as speed is being modulated.

Sync mode: “BPM” or “Free”.

Note subdivision selector.

Y->Vol (Y value to Volume) button.

Zero – X: Useful only in “Grainy” mode; this parameter is useful to avoid clicks, but if you want to go very fast you better untick this option, otherwise you’ll hear an artifact in where the pitch transitions aren’t smooth on very high frequencies.

X and Y spring buttons: Enable disable spring release on them.

Smooth knob: This smoothes out the X and Y values, high values result on slow response to quick movements, useful to make slow sweeps such as on one famous Daft Punk song.

Grain size knob: When in “Free” mode (opposed to BPM) you can specify the grain size here.

Corkscrew

Corkscrew is a free pitch shifter and time stretcher VST, Audio Unit plugin developed by Anarchy Sound Software. Compatible OS(s): Windows, macOS.

Mixes together multiple pitch-shifts of the input signal, increasing or decreasing their pitches in parallel, and fading them in/out at the extremes of their range.

This creates the illusion of a sound that seems to continually rise or fall, but doesn’t actually change in average pitch.

Cannabis Vocoder

Cannabis Vocoder is a free vocoder VST plugin developed by Bitsonic. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b.

Cannabis vocoder is a funny plugin which can completely change the sound of your vocal track. The mono version is an effect plugin, meaning it’s not a VST instruments. Using the effect on the vocal track the software automatically tracks the tune of the vocal track, and calculates the pitch of the changed sound as well.

The poly version is a VST instruments application, where you can load the vocal track into the software and using the MIDI channel you can create a polyphonic vocoder.

Interface:

Octave/Semitone: You can change the pitch here. If you change the value of the octave you can create various, interesting sounds – even within the same vocoder tone.

Attack: Changes the reaction time of the vocoder.

Original: Dashes the altered sound with the original sounding.

Vocoder: Changes the volume of the vocoder, but the original sound stays the same.

File: Saves or loads your personal settings.

Voice/Groove: If you use the mono version, you can use the specific sound of the vocoder for grooves, drums. In this case I suggest changing the switch button to groove mode, so the pitch extraction works on fix pitch.

Load: Loads a new wav file.

Menu: You can choose from 25 different tones.

Breath Cube employs the ‘pop music generating’ engine of Cube Breath and adds a 3-band synthetic voice to “challenge your listening skills”.

Brandulator

Brandulator is a free harmonizer and vocoder VST plugin developed by Stone Voices. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

VST-plugin «Brandulator» creates special audio-effect with a peculiar sounding which is similar to a flanger, a vocoder and a harmonizer, but has other principle of operation in case of which the input signal branches on three channels of processing by the set-up comb filters, the tonality of their setup can will change to 16 times for a clock period (Bar). The effect also performs functions of the peculiar arpeggiator functioning synchronously with DAW therefore the detail design shall have the corresponding musical size though it isn’t mandatory. Tonalities of settings of each channel can be set as in manual by means of governing bodies, and is accidental according to the given harmonic law selected from the list numbering about three hundred different harmonies. Randomization of tonalities can be made both manually, and automatically at the beginning of everyone 1,2,3. 8th clock period. This plug-in is the free software (Freeware).

BFS-1

BFS-1 is a free frequency shifter VST plugin developed by WOK. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

BFS-1, a virtual recreation of the Bode Frequency Shifter.

Different from a pitch shifter, a frequency shifter moves all frequencies/harmonics by adding a fixed amount. The sound is similar to a ring modulator but it is possible to get the upshifted and downshifted signal separately. Unlike a ring modulator, the frequency shifter is also capable of changing the signal by a low amount, e.g. 1 Hz, to obtain effects known as “Barberpole flanging”.

This plug-in has some additional features like feedback delays in the shifting sections, an LFO (all host synced), an envelope with MIDI trigger and an envelope follower to modulate shift and/or volume.

Argotlunar

Argotlunar is a real-time delay-line granulator. It breaks up an incoming audio stream into short samples (Grains). Each grain can have random settings of amplitude, panning, duration, delay, pitch, glissando, filter and envelope. The output of all grains is mixed and sent to the main output. The main output can be fed back into the main input.

Most of the parameters can be correlated. Examples: Higher filter cutoff for grains with higher pitch, and vice versa. Grains with shorter duration can be panned to the center, and conversely the grains with longer duration can be panned wide in the stereo field.

Time-related parameters can be synced to the host tempo.

Pitch-related parameters can be quantized to various chords/scales.

Up to three pairs of parameters can be correlated.
