Cement 2

Cement 2 free soundbank by Cinematique Instruments

Cement 2 virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Kontakt, by Cinematique Instruments.

Cement 2 follows the same concept such as Cement, but contrary to that it is based on three different instruments which are Baritone Ukulele, Guitar Harmonics and a Marimba! Below you’ll find the Cement description:

Cement is a sequencer based pattern generator which is suitable to enrich a music production and lend it a specific character. It is designed to allow the user to create cementing textures, crawling patterns or a fundamental for your musical idea.

Cement comes up with three layered instruments which can create numerous sound colors. The instruments are: a sinus synth, a banjo combined with guitar harmonics and a music box. For changing the entire sound character, Cement provides plenty of options to modify the sound to your very own requirements: low-pass- and high-pass filter (with a random high pass modulator), distortion- and speaker switches, an alternate sinus sci-fi sound, separate length settings and separate slider to set the amount of two delays and a reverb.

Cement runs in stand alone mode as well as in-sync to your host application. Just easily click on the 16th note of your choice to play the sound – a second click increases the velocity level – a third click removes the note, then click on the note symbol to change its pitch. Cement provides 4 different kinds of scales, transposing functions, shuffle- and tempo modes and finally load/ save switches to save/recall the entire setting of Cement.

CBW01

CBW01 free drum-machine by Saltline

CBW01 is a free drum machine VST plugin developed by Saltline. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

The CBW01 drum machine was created for music-society.net.

Registration is required at music-society.net in order to download this VST instrument. (registration is free). Registration problems and queries should be sent directly to [email protected]

CBW01 features 4 drum hit editors and 1 effects section. Each editor and the effect section has independent MIDI controls including, MIDI Channel, MIDI note Hi and Lo (key range) and 16 modulation slots (sources, pitch wheel, mod wheel, velocity and key follow). This allows for greater dynamics whilst playing. See the feature list below
for each drum hit’s modulation destination possibilities.

The kick editor also has a space for writing patch information, hit channel, key range, etc. This helps when sharing presets or when your patches are getting a little complex you can make notes.

CatchDad

CatchDad free buffer-synth by Noisebud

CatchDad is a free buffer synth VST plugin developed by Noisebud. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

CatchDad is the second Noisebud plug-in created strictly for live situations. With CatchDad you can catch 4 different sounds with just the click of a button and instantly start to program rhythms with the built in step sequencers.

Put it on a channel (or return track) in Ableton Live (or any other VST host that send time signals). Activate live monitoring if you like to record live sounds or run a loop trough CatchDad and start programming beats on the fly, or you could use loops as sound banks to change sound as you go or catch a live drummer and start to rearrange what he’s playing in real time or just add hits here and there.

Other features:

  • Shuffle.
  • Adjustable sequencer length (you can create isorhythmic patterns).
  • ‘Free’ or ‘host’ tempo modes.
  • Auto record. CatchDad can be set to record automatically.
  • Pitch can be set to either 12 tone equal temperament or free.
  • There are 128 user presets accessible by MIDI program change. If a user preset is changed it is saved with the song/project. Up to 128 presets with the project, so there is no need for a store button. Really handy in Ableton Live, just create a MIDI clip with the program change and the pattern will load immediately when the clip is launched.
