CombOver is a free filter VST plugin developed by runagate. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

CombOver is an FSU effect based on Comb Filters. Unlike a normal comb filter effect CombOver is trying too hard to cover up the naked pate of boring audio. Unlike those old FSU fx this one is understandable, programmable and doesn’t explode with feedback. But similarly otherworldly, wet or electric, exploding or glitchy and twitching sounds are possible with CombOver.

CombOver features delay times controlled by pitch detection and harmonic overtone series slider bank modulated by a step sequencer, a vector mixing X/Y pad top select amongst the delay times of four different harmonic-modulated delay times and a harmonic mix control to blend in harmonics with the root pitch-controlled comb filter. There are five comb filters in all.

Combat Loop Drum Machine (vst) is a free drum machine and rompler VST plugin developed by DCSI. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Combat Loop Drum Machine (CLDM) is a sample and loop based free drum VST instrument.

Loops and samples are originally made and edited by DCSI. The instrument comes with velocity sensitivity. Sounds are split across 7 octaves (from C0 to B6) giving you 4 sound kits:

Combat Loop Drum Machine

Combat Loop Drum Machine virtual instrument is a free drums sound bank for Kontakt, by DCSI.

Combat Loop Drum Machine (CLDM) is a drum sample based Kontakt instrument wrapped around different sets of drum sounds, loops and noises, originally crafted and edited by DCSI.

CLDM comes with velocity sensitivity and the modwheel of your MIDI controller assigned to a kind of Power-Up flavour effect.

Cobalt

Cobalt is a free software synthesizer developed by Sanford Sound Design. Available format(s): VST for Windows.

Cobalt is a VSTi software synthesizer inspired by many of the digital synthesizers from the 1980s.

In the early 80s as digital technology became cheaper, many manufacturers designed synthesizers that combined earlier analog technology with newer digital technology. These were known as hybrid synthesizers. Well-known hybrid synthesizers are the Korg DW8000 and DW6000, the Ensoniq ESQ-1, and the Kawai K3.

In analog/digital hybrid synthesizers, the oscillators responsible for generating waveforms are digital while the filter section remains analog. This approach freed designers to use any kind of waveform; they were no longer restricted to traditional analog waveforms such as sawtooth, triangle, and pulse. However, by using an analog filter, these synthesizers retained the warmth earlier analog synthesizers were known for.

Though Cobalt is a purely digital synthesizer, its overall architecture is very much like those early hybrid synthesizers. It features a wide selection of waveforms, most of which were resynthesized from actual hybrid synthesizers, while providing traditional subtractive synthesis capabilities for sculpting its sound.
