Elastik is a flexible studio tool for the creation of professional music productions. It powers all of Ueberschall’s sample libraries.
Elastik offers a whole range of desirable features:
– The ReTune tab in the Loopeye editor gives you complete control over the scale and key of any tonal loop and can even work with polyphonic material. The ReTune algorithm, developed by zplane.development, analyzes polyphonic and monophonic sound material in realtime and transform it to the desired key and scale while retaining high audio quality.
– If you want complete control over the time and pitch stretching process, the Time tab within the Loopeye editor allows you to choose between six different algorithms, from the simple and efficient PitchSpeed to the high quality ProV3 which gives you the maximum scope for varying pitch and tempo while minimizing audio artifacts.
– Elastik includes a random sound replacement function called Inspire: one click on the Inspire button and Elastik will select an alternative loop. This is a sample library of a beautiful Darabuka that I’ve received as a gift and thought it would make a great addition to use in my projects, especially since I’ve sampled certain articulations that I mostly use. This Darabuka was recorded with 4 dynamic layers per articulation and with 2 dynamic layers for the rolls. I haven’t recorded any RRs, but you’ll find that there are enough articulations and velocity layers to create a fairly realistic performance with it.
The Darabuka was captured in mono using the AKG 420 Perception microphone, which really brought out the clarity of the instrument while retaining the body. I’ve included a MIDI file performance using the instrument, which will give you an idea of how to use the instrument.
I’ll be further expanding on this instrument in the future by recording lots of Round Robins than I originally did, more articulations, and a couple more mic positions. In the meantime, please enjoy using this simple but articulate instrument.

Eckel is a MIDI generating VST based on the Euclidean Algorithm. Inspired by this blog entry and the linked PDF.
How To operate
There are 8 instances of the generating part. Pulse is the actual sounding beats, space is the space between the pulses. Speed is how fast they come, 0 is 4th 1 is 8th’s etc. Note is the MIDI note that the algorithm spews out.How you actually make it work in your host is up to you to find out. Remember that Eckel sends MIDI note on and off’s.
