Stereo Tool is a utility plugin featuring a variety of useful processes for manipulating stereo input signals and can be used to re-balance stereo and mid-side information and place it anywhere in the stereo field. Stereo Touch

Stereo Touch can be used to add stereo width to audio tracks. This plug-in is most effective on mono pad sounds and alike. This effect works with mono stream generating stereo stream. It also works with stereo streams, however both channels get processed independently of each other like they are mono streams and then two resulting stereo streams get mixed together to produce one stereo stream.

Stereo

Stereo is a free stereo imaging VST, Audio Unit, AAX plugin developed by kiloHearts. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

Stereo can adjust the stereo width and panning. It also displays the current balance and channel correlation visually:

Width knob – Adjusts the stereo width. The input audio must have at least a little stereo information for this knob to do anything.

Pan knob – Adjusts the panning.

Mid knob – Controls how much of the non-stereo content to let through.

Stereo Meter – Displays the current balance and channel correlation. When the meter moves into the red area the correlation is less than zero, which can cause problems with mono compatibility.

Settings panel – Whenever you have your mouse cursor over a snapin theree is a small arrow at the top right corner (not visible in screenshot). It opens a settings panel where you handle presets.

Enabled checkbox – The small checkbox to the left of the plugin name is a checkbox that bypasses the effect when disabled.

Resize handle – The bottom right corner of all Kilohearts plugins is a resize handle for scaling the UI to any size. This allows you to get a good view of the controls whatever the screen resolution, and also comes in handy if you need big controls, e.g. when using Stereo as a real-time effect on a touchscreen monitor during a live set. (This is not available when the snapin is used inside a snapin host.).

Stereo shines on it’s own, but it was primarily created to power up the different “Snapin Hosts” Kilohearts offer. These are bigger effects units that utilize all the available snapins and give you a really fun and creative workflow for combining them in any way you can think of. Squeaky Chair

Squeaky Chair virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Halion and Kontakt and Exs24 and Garage Band, by Tangent Edge Instruments.

Halloween 2016 freebie: the Squeaky Chair.

The Squeaky Chair is a rare musical instrument and that’s a good thing. It’s really hard to play and it never sounds good, although my student Gabriel Calis did a great job performing for this sample library.

This particular Squeaky Chair is a rotating stool type and the screw thread hasn’t been greased in its whole life. It only has one pitch, the highest A in the virtual version. I mapped it over 5 octaves.

It’s definitely one of the most ugly sounds you will have in your computer and it’s unpredictable like the real thing. I hope you find some use for it.

It works in Kontakt 4 or higher, GarageBand, Logic and free SFZ players like Sforzando.
