Gorgon

Gorgon is a free ring modulator VST, Audio Unit plugin developed by Inear Display. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

Gorgon is a savage distortion plugin with FM Ring Modulation, Metalizer Delay, Samplerate Reduction and Lowpass/Highpass Filters thrown into the signal path.

GChorus

GChorus is a free chorus VST plugin developed by GVST. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS, Linux.

GChorus is a chorus effect. The incoming signal is mixed with a delayed copy of itself. The effect is created by modulating the playback speed of the delayed copy.

GChorus uses a sinusoidal LFO to vary the playback speed of the delayed signal. The magnitude and rate of this LFO are set using the Depth and Freq parameters.

When GChorus is used on a stereo signal, a separate LFO is used for each channel. The R Phase parameter controls the phase of the right-channel LFO relative to the left. When R Phase is 0°, the two LFOs are synchronised. Changing the R Phase parameter causes the two LFOs to oscillate independently, which adds width to the sound.

The Mix parameter controls the mix of the original and delayed signals.

FlangerHand

FlangerHand is a free flanger VST plugin developed by Semerika. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

The FlangerHand plug-in is based on the idea of the early flanging effect realised on a setup of up to 4 tape machines (1 source, 3 recorders) in the ’60s. The playback-head output from two recorders was mixed together onto a third recorder. The “flange” effect originated when an engineer would literally put a finger on the flange, or rim of one of the tape reels so that the machine was slowed down, slipping out of sync by tiny degrees. A listener would hear a “drainpipe” sweeping effect as shifting sum-and-difference harmonics were created. When the operator removed his finger the tape sped up again, making the effect sweep back in the other direction.

Flanger Box

Flanger Box is a free flanger VST plugin developed by Synthescience. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

We could think about the Flanger effect as a more dramatic one than Chorus itself. The key to that is the addition of the feedback function that when pushed hard will add a more pronounced swirl with a metallic edge to the modulation effect that goes well on harmonically treble rich content sounds.

Apart from the typical Flanger sound, this unit could do (if programmed to) classic Chorus and Comb filter tones alike.

Featuring a selection of five different waveforms, (Sine, Tri, Saw, Square and Random) the first two Sine and triangular suited for the typical Flanger/Chorus modulated sound and the remaining three Saw, Square and Random more rhythmically content oriented.

Furthermore a wave invert and Phase adjust function is included to provide a more expansive sound.

The Flanger Box is fully automatable and has the ability to store 64 presets. It ships with a few already pre programmed ones that will show what its all about and may be the starting point to your individual creations.

Installation procedure: Unzip the file, then copy the DLLs into your VstPlugins folder.

faderratic

faderratic is a free lfo and glitch VST plugin developed by de la Mancha. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

faderratic brings you cross-fading of 2 stereo inputs, but with a mind of its own and a ton of options to change the fade shape, length, limits, frequency and probability. faderratic works by generating a pulse on a tempo-sync frequency and, depending on the probability, it may trigger a cross-fade event. You can optionally make the fader auto-return to either side and, if you feel like it, trigger a fade manually or control the fader movement totally manually.

NOTE: faderratic is a multi-input effect plugin with 2 stereo inputs. You need a host that allows multi-input effects, such as energyXT, for the cross fading to work. If your host does not allow multi-input effects, you can still use faderratic as a gate, as it will cross-fade 1 stereo input with silence.

F8-V2

F8-V2 is a free multi fx and filter and ring modulator and reverb and gate and lfo and echo and pitch shifter Audio Unit plugin developed by Music Unfolding. Compatible OS(s): macOS.

The Collective 8 Audio Unit Bundle consists of three Audio Units: F8-V2, Mod8 and Res8. All three share a similar amplitude modulation sequence configuration. The audio stream is copied into 8 identical streams and an amplitude modulation pattern can be applied to each stream. The amplitude modulation patterns can be drawn to any shape, with an-easy-to use editing environment that automatically appears when hovering over the patterns with a mouse. Each stream also has filters or effects applied to it individually. The streams are then mixed back together.

The plug-ins:

F8-V2 has LFOs, which are applied to highpass, bandpass or lowpass filters.

Res8 has a choice of a driven, nonlinear, multi-stage filter or formant filters that can be independently applied to each audio stream.

Mod8 has a range of modulation effects like vibrato and ring modulation. It also has echo, reverb, sub-octave, and pitch shifting.
