Skiff is a round robin faker effect for single-layer drums. It sequences filters and volume. This simulates hitting the drums at different places and velocities.

Sizzle Spine is a step-sequenced FX unit designed for new forms of distortion. It allows subtle-to-extreme destruction effects by step-sequencing columns of various distortion FX units. Various step-types are available such as cycling, skipping, random, and reverse. The step-sequencer speed can be controlled by hand or internal automation. The step-through FX included are Waveshapers, Bitcrushers, “Rectizers”, and Delays. Sizzle Spine also has a global Delay and LFO driven Analog Filter, as well as incoming and outgoing Audio Clipping controls.

The SAFE Project is motivated by the lack of statistically-defined transferable semantic terms in music production and the requirement for more intuitive control of low-level parameters.
One of the main outcomes of the project is a suite of DAW plug-ins that allow you to both save and load semantic terms from within the audio production workflow. This means you can now control your audio effect plug-ins using terms that normal human beings can understand! Just type a term (such as warm, bright, etc.) into the text-box, and if we have it on our server, your parameters will be moved around to represent this. Similarly, if you achieve an effect that can be explained in semantic terms, input it into the box and hit save.
As the plug-ins are based on the music production community, the more users that input terms, the more representative the effects become for everyone else.

Rubberfilter offers four classic filter modes to cut frequencies with up to 384 dB/Oct. It removes frequencies in any audio signal, while providing an additional creative purpose. Rubberfilter has a controllable filter order of 6 dB/Oct up to 384 dB/Oct. At high filter order levels, a psychoacoustic effect appears which is usually an unwanted sound of zips and sweeps, almost as if there is a tone present at the filter’s cut-off frequency. Rubberfilter allows you to use this psychoacoustic effect for creative purposes.
Christian Budde and, fellow KVR member, Dalor created Rubberfilter. The idea sprang from a KVR forum thread entitled million dollar scientific EQ? and now it has its own thread.

The RIAA – Phono Equalization plug-in provides normal and inverse RIAA equalization. It thus can be used for record playback or vinyl cutting purposes. Another nice trick is to use it to simulate certain ‘vinyl sound effects’ by applying the inverse RIAA curve to your signal and after running it through a compressor converting it back to flat.
It works at the standard sample rates from 44.1kHz up to 96kHz.
Controls:
- Level: Level adjust +/- 20dB.
- RIAA: select between regular (playback) and inverse curve.
