EngineersFilter is a filter plug-in that allows for extremely steep filtering. It achieves this by implementing high order IIR filter design methods that are commonly used in science and engineering, namely Butterworth, Chebychev, inverse Chebychev and elliptic (aka Cauer) filters. Each of these filter design methods can be applied to create low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, band-reject, high-/low-shelving and peak/dip filters of orders up to 20.

This filter is a specialist in changing the overall sonic character of a signal with ease. It features two comprehensive controllers and is capable of producing convincing results in no time at all. Whenever a classic shelving filter would be too limited and a fully parametric filter would be too much, the niveau filter is the perfect tool.

Description

Its main function is to change the proportions between high and low frequencies. The principle is quite similar to a pair of scales: Dependent on the gain setting around a variable center frequency, the high frequencies are boosted whereas the low frequencies are attenuated (or vice versa) at the same time.

The center frequency can be shifted continuously between 26 Hz and 2.2 kHz or between 260 Hz and 22 kHz respectively (when the x10 switch is activated). The characteristics of the filter change in the extreme positions of the EQ Gain controller: The fully counter-clockwise setting will give you a low pass filter; fully clockwise position will result in a high pass filter.

EFU-1 Echo Freeze Unit

EFU-1 Echo Freeze Unit is a free delay and echo VST plugin developed by WOK. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

EFU-1 is more than another delay plug-in. Besides all the basic functions (host sync or milliseconds, digital/tape/analog sound, modulation) it features a distinctive freeze function – like some famous hardware delay units, the delay buffer can act like a sampler. Up to 4/1 bars of input signal can be recorded (or “frozen”) and continuously played back at a selectable speed – even reverse.

But EFU-1 is more flexible than hardware devices: while a frozen audio segment is played back, the delay unit remains useable – even at a different delay time / sync divider. Also to hold and freeze a signal it is possible to first choose “record” and then send audio to the plug-in, or you continuously play thru the delay and if the “last loop” was interesting, you hit “Record” to freeze it.

And while the recorded phrase is played back – even reverse, you may continue to play along with it thru the delay at a different time setting. Feedback can be cranked up until nearly endless, and in millisecond mode, the delay time can be changed smoothly from many seconds to very short – producing these famous dub sounds.

The ease of use, low CPU usage and musical functionality make EFU-1 the perfect tool for live mangling your audio.
