sg-glitchgate

sg-glitchgate is a free gate VST plugin developed by Synthgeek. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

This is an experimental gating plugin- basically a rhythmic gate, but not set up in the standard way. There are two periodic gates which can be used for anything from regular rhythmic chopping to random rhythmic manipulations and strange dropouts. The gates are followed by a delay unit designed to enhance the glitchiness- it does not sync to tempo, and the delay time and gain can be randomized. There are 5 LFOs to add to the fun. A few presets are included to give you an idea of how things work.

sg-corruptor

sg-corruptor is a free glitch VST plugin developed by Synthgeek. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

The idea for this effect came from the data corruption effect used in the noisebot synths. However, that effect depends on several other parts of the synth to function, so this is a modified version that uses an odd sort of resynthesis effect and a ring modulator as input, with a filter and two LFOs (one for the ring mod, one for the filter). Another crucial feature for the function of that effect is the combiner, which here is fed by the two LFOs. A few tweaks were made to make it work better outside of its original home. The results will always be somewhat unpredictable, and will probably only slightly resemble the input material, but that’s the idea.

sg-2stage

sg-2stage is a free distortion VST plugin developed by Synthgeek. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

This is a two-stage distortion unit. It is not designed to sound analog or tube-like, it just destroys stuff. The two stages are different from each other, and there is a nice set of tone-shaping features.

sfilter

sfilter creates a stepped filtered sequence, to create gating, sweeps or rhythmic modulation of filter cut-off. It uses a variable state filter, varying between 2 adjustable cut-off values according to a tempo-sync’d step sequencer. An LFO can also modulate the filter for extra movement

Tempo-sync step sequencer, with 2 to 32 steps over a sequence length of 2 to 32 beats.

Filter cut-off varies between upper and lower cut-off values, in either direction.

SevenDelay

SevenDelay is a free delay VST3 plugin developed by Uhhyou. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

Note: Currently Linux build doesn’t display GUI due to some problem related to VSTGUI. For Linux, LV2 version is available at https://github.com/ryukau/LV2Plugins.

SevenDelay is a stereo delay using 7th order Lagurange interpolated fractional delay. Also 7 times oversampled. Suitable for making sound with actively changing delay time by hand or DAW automation:

0.1 ms to 8 s delay time. Parameters are tuned towards short delay.

All parameters are smoothed.

Parameter smoothing can be controlled by user.

Continuous change between normal, inverse, ping-pong and other panning.

High-pass and all-pass filter for feedback.

Negative feedback.

Tempo sync for [1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, …, 7.5, 8]/16 beat.

An LFO for delay time and all-pass cutoff.

Mono/Stereo “pumper” compressor, indicated for use in tracks that require beyond dynamic range control, also “punch”:

Input – Input signal gain control from -12db to + 12db.

Att – Attack ranging from 1.2ms to 500ms.

Rel – Release ranging from 20ms to 5s.

Threshold – with decibel range from 0db to -36db.

Ratio – Compression ratio, ranging from 1:1 to 20:1.

Knee – Curve gives compression, which varies between values 1 and 5 Output – Output signal gain control from -12db to + 12db.

Scratch it! is a free scratch / tapestop VST plugin for Windows, it is specially created for live scratching and tapestop effects.

The multi-segment envelope allows you to define how the stop button works on the audio signal, you can define up to 16 points in a synchronized beat grid, like this the stop button can act as “scratch sequence”.

Scalefreq Generator is a tool for rendering frequencies of notes and musical scales into various output formats. It’s primarily aimed for mixing and mastering engineers and other musical interested people.

The frequencies of musical scale or non-scale notes (inverse) are important in mixing and mastering situations. E.g. non-scale frequencies are often attenuated using an EQ.

Saturation Knob

Saturation Knob is a free saturation AAX plugin developed by Softube. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

Saturation Knob is the analog sounding, simple to use, yet versatile way of adding some sweet distortion to your tracks. The knob itself controls the amount of saturation, and there are three different distortion characteristics to choose from by flicking the switch.

With the switch set to Neutral, the entire frequency spectrum of the sound gets distorted when you turn up the Saturation knob. Put it on Keep Low, and the saturation will mainly affect the lower part of the frequency spectrum, while the top end stays clear. Conversely, with Keep High selected, the low end will retain its clear sound and instead only the treble parts of the sound will get distorted. This makes a wide variety of distortion characteristics available to you.
