sfilter

sfilter free filter | gate by de la Mancha

sfilter is a free filter and gate VST plugin developed by de la Mancha. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

sfilter creates a stepped filtered sequence, to create gating, sweeps or rhythmic modulation of filter cut-off. It uses a variable state filter, varying between 2 adjustable cut-off values according to a tempo-sync’d step sequencer. An LFO can also modulate the filter for extra movement

  • Tempo-sync step sequencer, with 2 to 32 steps over a sequence length of 2 to 32 beats.
  • Resonant variable filter, LP, HP, BP and notch.
  • Filter cut-off varies between upper and lower cut-off values, in either direction.
  • Tempo sync LFO, with 6 waveforms and settings from 1/16 beat to 96 beats.
  • Random swing for step sequencer.
  • Wet/dry mix control.
  • MIDI CC and MIDI learn.

Saro

ZynAddSubFX free software-synthesizer by paulnasca 2

Saro is a free overdrive and saturation VST plugin developed by Smart Electronix. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

by Antti of Smart Electronix

Saro is a tube distortion effect with cabinet modeling. It’s based on AX-84 High Octane guitar amp; only the preamp part is modeled.

Don’t expect Fender-style creamy warmth – Saro goes for full-on crunch (or insanity with high drive settings).

NOTE: Saro uses the hosts’s default GUI.

Sanford Delay

Sanford Delay free delay | echo by Sanford Sound Design

Sanford Delay is a free delay and echo VST plugin developed by Sanford Sound Design. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

The Sanford Delay is a VST stereo delay effect. It’s an easy to use delay that gets the job done quickly and efficiently. It features a filter in the feedback path that lets you dampen the feedback over time, giving the delay a natural sound. It also allows you to pan the feedback across the stereo spectrum creating the classic “ping-pong” effect. Overall, its main quality is simplicity. If you need a straightforward delay that doesn’t overwhelm you with bells and whistles, this is the one for you.

Key Features:

  • Low CPU usage.
  • Up to 1 second of delay.
  • Independent left/right delay times.
  • Pan delay for creating a “ping-pong” effect.
  • Delay times can be synchronized to tempo.
  • Feedback can be fed through a lowpass or highpass filter.

SampleDelay

SampleDelay free delay by BlueLab | Audio Plugins

SampleDelay is a free delay VST, VST3, Audio Unit, AAX plugin developed by BlueLab | Audio Plugins. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

SampleDelay is a plugin that simply applies a short delay to a track. It has a precision at the level of one sample. It is more designed to be used as a utility than to be used to make an effect.

Examples of use

Shifting a track slightly: the plugin can be used to adjust a track that has been accidentally slightly shifted.

Dubbing effect: with the plugin, two tracks can be slightly shifted from one to the other to get a dubbing effect.

SAFEEqualiser

SAFEEqualiser free eq by Semantic Audio

SAFEEqualiser is a free equalizer VST, Audio Unit plugin developed by Semantic Audio. Compatible OS(s): Windows, macOS.

The SAFE Project is motivated by the lack of statistically-defined transferable semantic terms in music production and the requirement for more intuitive control of low-level parameters.

One of the main outcomes of the project is a suite of DAW plug-ins that allow you to both save and load semantic terms from within the audio production workflow. This means you can now control your audio effect plug-ins using terms that normal human beings can understand! Just type a term (such as warm, bright, etc.) into the text-box, and if we have it on our server, your parameters will be moved around to represent this. Similarly, if you achieve an effect that can be explained in semantic terms, input it into the box and hit save.

As the plug-ins are based on the music production community, the more users that input terms, the more representative the effects become for everyone else.

s(M)exoscope

s(M)exoscope free oscilloscope by Smart Electronix

s(M)exoscope is a free oscilloscope VST, Audio Unit plugin developed by Smart Electronix. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

By Bram @ Smart Electronix.

s(M)exoscope is an oscilloscope VST plugin. You can use it to visually monitor audio wave forms.

Features:

  • Available as a Standard insert effect or as a special Modular version optimized especially for modular VST hosts like Plogue Bidule or AudioMulch.
  • Display controls – Time (number of pixels per sample) & Amp (amplitude of the waveform in the display).
  • Retrigger modes – Free, Internal, Rising & Falling – with Retrigger Threshold. External mode also available in the modular version.
  • Options – Sync Redraw, Freeze, DC-Kill & Channel.

The s(M)exoscope also contains a tool that can be used to analyze the waveform currently in the display. Based on where you place a marker, the tool analyzes the x and y dimensions of the waveform to calculate the following:

  • Selection amplitude (linear).
  • Selection amplitude (decibels).
  • Selection length (in samples).
  • Selection length (in seconds).
  • Selection length (in milliseconds).
  • Selection frequency (assuming that the selection is one cycle in length).

Rubberfilter

Rubberfilter free eq | filter by Christian Budde

Rubberfilter is a free eq and filter VST plugin developed by Christian Budde. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Rubberfilter offers four classic filter modes to cut frequencies with up to 384 dB/Oct. It removes frequencies in any audio signal, while providing an additional creative purpose. Rubberfilter has a controllable filter order of 6 dB/Oct up to 384 dB/Oct. At high filter order levels, a psychoacoustic effect appears which is usually an unwanted sound of zips and sweeps, almost as if there is a tone present at the filter’s cut-off frequency. Rubberfilter allows you to use this psychoacoustic effect for creative purposes.

Christian Budde and, fellow KVR member, Dalor created Rubberfilter. The idea sprang from a KVR forum thread entitled million dollar scientific EQ? and now it has its own thread.
