Chrissy is a free tool for lo-fi/sonic mayhem. Although it is primarily designed to be used on the human voice, it can deliver interesting results in other applications such as (electric) guitar, synth-drones or beats.

Buffer Synth Alpha is a lo-fi performance effect. It reads the audio input into a buffer, and when it receives a MIDI note, plays back the contents of the buffer at the pitch of the note. Checking the Freeze Buffer parameter will stop the plugin reading audio into its buffer while the MIDI note is held, giving the familiar ‘stuck buffer’ effect.
Note that this is not an ‘alpha-version’ but a finished plugin.

Blittr is a buffer-sampling, stuttering glitchbox in the tradition of DFX’s Buffer override. It features integrated modulation LFOs, XY pad and a useless-but-cool-looking wave scope.

Bitsmacker is a digital distortion swiss army knife for adding that certain digital crustiness to your pristine audio signal. It can simulate vintage samplers, classic video game systems, and other lo-fi paraphernalia. At extreme settings, it warps your audio with power you can’t get from a stomp box or full stack.
Features:
- Zero-latency.
- Sample rate reduction from 50 to 44,100 hz.
- Bit depth range from 0.01 to 32 bit.
- Parametric EQ on Input.
- Parametric EQ on Output.
- Drive adjustment for boost.
- All values continuously variable, no large steps between values.

SC BitCrusher is a full-featured bit-crusher plugin that lets you control bit rate, rate reduction, and stereo spread (with stereo field visualization). We’ve also added a filter section that allows you to add filtered noise to the mix. Take noise from white (full spectrum), to pink, to anything in between. The addition of an LFO on the filter lets you sweep the noise for a truly unique effect.
The SC BitCrusher plugin features full automation of all parameters and preset sharing with other users online.

Bit Fluzer is an audio effect similar to standard “bit crushers”, but featuring two channels with input filters and audio bit reductions modulated by two LFOs. Using the Bit Fluzer plugin you can alter the bit depth of the audio signal from your instruments or audio tracks in your DAW in various ways. The two bit depth controls range from one to 20 bits in continuous fashion, moreover the bit depth can be made to rhythmically oscillate with the LFOs. That way you can obtain a range of mono or stereo modulating effects: from subtle “sound warming”, due to the soft noise introduced by a little bit depth reduction, to more aggressive distortions and groovy patterns. The two channels can work independently on different sections of the audio spectrum, since one channel features a lowpass filter and the other a highpass filter.
We release this freeware effect plugin also to advocate the main motives of repair.org, that is to rise awareness about the possible “progressive loss of rights” of users to fix and maintain their own electronic devices. We think this is especially relevant for musicians who are used to customising and fixing their instruments, either acoustic or electronic.” Therefore, beside the economical and environmental concerns, the products policy of some hardware firms could damage the creative habits of artists using electronic devices. You may see the repair.org website for more info.
Disclaimer: NUSofting has no benefit from, or association with, repair.org or individuals involved in that “United States based” organization.
Features:
- Channel 1 features a Lowpass filter. Channel 2 features a Highpass filter.
- Both channels take the input as mono: left + right:
- Channel 1: left + right >>>input gain >>> lowpass >>> bith depth >>> output gain >>> pan.
- Channel 2: left + right >>>input gain >>> highpass >>> bith depth >>> output gain >>> pan.
- You can create a new stereo image on the output using the pan controls.
- The LFOs when “free running” the rate range is 0.01 to 26.00 Hertz, when in “sync” the rate range is 1 bar to 1/32 (assuming a 4/4 time signature), and it will modulate the bit reductions relatively to the value of the bit depth controls.
- The level of the input can be adjusted between -12 and +12 dB.
- The dry/wet slider allows to mix the stereo input with the effected signals.
- All parameters can be automated inside a DAW.
- Scalable GUI and custom colours.

Argotlunar is a real-time delay-line granulator. It breaks up an incoming audio stream into short samples (Grains). Each grain can have random settings of amplitude, panning, duration, delay, pitch, glissando, filter and envelope. The output of all grains is mixed and sent to the main output. The main output can be fed back into the main input.
Most of the parameters can be correlated. Examples: Higher filter cutoff for grains with higher pitch, and vice versa. Grains with shorter duration can be panned to the center, and conversely the grains with longer duration can be panned wide in the stereo field.
Details:
- Time-related parameters can be synced to the host tempo.
- Pitch-related parameters can be quantized to various chords/scales.
- Up to three pairs of parameters can be correlated.
- Raised-cosine-bell, parabolic, and triangle grain envelopes, with adjustable shape.
- Transposition is spline-interpolated to reduce aliasing.
- 12dB state variable filter (HP/BP/LP/Notch).
- Comb filter.
