GGrain

GGrain is a free glitch VST plugin developed by GVST. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS, Linux.

GGrain breaks down the incoming signal into grains and then reassembles it. A grain is just a very short section of the sound, shaped to avoid clicks.

You can specify the number and size of the grains taken from the incoming signal. The level and pitch of each grain can then be altered before the sound is reconstructed, giving a variety of interesting effects.

The grain-size, pitch and level can all be randomized using the SizeVar, PitchVar and GainVar parameters. These specify the largest variation from the associated centre value, set by the Size, Pitch and Gain parameters.

For example, if Size is set to 35ms and SizeVar is set to 5ms, then the grain-size used will vary randomly from 30ms to 40ms. If all of the Var parameters are 0 then no randomization will be applied.

The Mix parameter allows the original and resynthesized sounds to be mixed together.

There is also a quality switch. High-quality mode adds filtering to minimize aliasing when changing the pitch of grains. It also uses improved interpolation. GGrain uses significantly more CPU power in high-quality mode.

GClip

GClip is a free waveshaper VST plugin developed by GVST. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS, Linux.

GClip is a wave-shaping signal clipper. It prevents the input signal level from exceeding a specified maximum. The clipping function used can be altered to have a hard- or soft-knee.

A graph showing the shape of the clipping function is displayed on the GUI. There is also a wave display that shows what effect the clipping curve is having on the signal.

Fragmental

Fragmental is a free multi fx and delay and echo and filter VST plugin developed by ndc Plugs. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Fragmental is a complex multi-fx plugin incorporating a delay, granulator, three phase vocoder effects, a reversinator, and three types of modulation source. It incorporates a very flexible routing scheme capable of serial and parallel effects routings, and a new kind of modulation routing based on a kind of pie chart representation.

This plugin was developed in conjunction with KVR member, shamann.

The code for the phase vocoder effects comes from the PVOC plugins (Trans, Exag, Accum) . It should be noted that the presence of the phase vocoder effects mean the plugin has a constant delay of 7680 samples, although PDC-capable hosts will compensate for this.

Elite Reducer 2

Elite Reducer 2 is a free bit crusher VST, Audio Unit plugin developed by Virtual Creations. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

Elite Reducer 2 is a sample rate / bit rate VST reducer with two resonant low pass filters and a special logical values combination algorithm.

It features an automatic bank loader and a handy GUI which makes it easy to automate the reducer’s values. Elite Reducer is very useful to for adding a powerful distorted sound to beat constructions. It sounds also very good on acid basses and atmospheric sounds.

Digital computer lofi sounds can be created with reducer easily. Reducer as group master effect can be used as a filter.

Version 2 now comes with 3 interpolation algorithms, lp/hp filters, 2 bit reducers and improvements.

The Driveshaper is an input sensitive Foldback Distortion, a great depart from what we commonly know and hear from traditional Distortion/Overdrive units, this one bearing the peculiarity of imprinting more of a Growly, FM’ish tone to what you throw at it. One can devise it as a special member from the Distortion family.

The Driveshaper is fully automatable and has the ability to store 64 presets. It ships with a few already pre programmed ones that will show what its all about.

Installation procedure: Unzip the file, then copy the DLLs into your VstPlugins folder.
