Synodeia

Synodeia is a VST effect, but instead of processing the incoming signal, it can recognize pitches (frequencies) from a monophonic source and trigger samples depending on each tone.

Synmergic Loop Editor is a free Pluggo-based VST plug-in focused on creating and editing musical patterns on-line.

Synmergic Loop Editor’s most important feature is the online editing of musical patterns or loops. Your on-going music project remains private, having its own tempo, other VST instruments and FX, etc., in other words having its own unique musical character, while at the same time everything you do in this plug-in is by principle public. The plug-in connects directly to the synmergic server where the musical patterns exist and allows you to edit them as part of your project. Changes made to these patterns are directly reflected to anyone who uses them in their own project.

Although the musical patterns are shared among various projects, this plug-in is not about sharing static audio loops or bits of music, but instead it is about interaction and joining the creative process of others. The various projects sharing musical patterns form a network of on-going musical creations.

Synmergic Loop Editor features a polyphonic FM generator with the extra ability of generating various noises or even re-sampling real time audio input. This way it can generate from very simple single oscillator sounds to various noises with internal complexity. Each audio event in a musical pattern has its own set of FM parameters and a dedicated envelop so the Synmergic VST plug-in is a versatile tool for creating audio loops.

You can save snapshots of a creative session while you work on it and load the snapshot later into your projects using the complementary playback plug-in. You can create sets of up to 16 snapshots and activate them on the fly while you are playing back your project. You can not however edit a snapshot file after it is created or saved. You can only edit a pattern while you are joined in the corresponding creative session.

Syng2

Syng2 is a free software synthesizer developed by xoxos. Available format(s): VST for Windows.

Syng2 is a voice synthesizer which uses four band-pass filters to produce formants in any spectrally rich input signal, or using an internal oscillator. The phoneme can be selected on a second MIDI channel for precise timing of speech, or preset words can be triggered on a third MIDI channel.

Syng2 was designed as an intelligible, low-CPU voice engine for Breathcube 2. The articulation is intended to be more natural than other ‘robot voices’ using this method, with plosives slightly emphasised to be heard with music.

SyndtSphere – Sound Surfer Synthesizer is a free software synthesizer developed by Klevgränd Produktion. Available format(s): VST, Audio Unit for Windows, macOS.

SyndtSphere is basically a sphere version of the polyphonic synthesizer Syndt. It offers a brand new way of finding the optimal sound; by rotating a sphere that consists of more than 70 professionally created states anyone can dial in the perfect sound. In addition to the sphere, a ping-pong delay and a few more global settings are available.

SyncSawSynth

SyncSawSynth is a free software synthesizer developed by Uhhyou. Available format(s): VST3 for Windows 64b, macOS, Linux.

Note: Currently Linux build doesn’t display GUI due to some problem related to VSTGUI. For Linux, LV2 version is available at https://github.com/ryukau/LV2Plugins.

SyncSawSynth is a synthesizer equipped with up to 10th order PTR sawtooth oscillator. PTR stands for polynomial transition regions which is an aliasing suppressing technique. As the name suggests, this one hard syncs:

Equipped with 2 of 0 to 10th order PTR sawtooth oscillator.

Can also use sin. However, hard sync for sin is not alias suppressed.

3 types of hard sync option. Only use “Ratio” option for tonal sound.

Phase controls. Possible to make a square wave with phase inversion.

Frequency modulation between 2 oscillators. You can be a noise musician in a second.

1 AD envelope, 1 sin LFO and 1 pink noise generator for frequency modulation. The AD envelope uses equation (t^a * exp(-b * t)).

Exponential ADSR envelope saturated with tanh for output gain.

Equipped a filter that is serially connected 4 RBJ biquad with feedback. Low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch can be used.

4 types of filter feedback saturation.

Linear ADSR envelope for filter cutoff and resonance. The output of filter envelope is logarithmically mapped to cutoff frequency.

Key follow for filter cutoff and resonance.

Some optimization made into version 0.1.3, however it’s still a bit slow. To keep CPU consumption lower, reduce maximum number of voice.
