Chorus Box

Chorus Box is a free chorus VST plugin developed by Synthescience. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Since its invention on the late seventies the Chorus effect has been established as the effect to go if you need to impart some thickness and dimension into your sound.

The Chorus Box does that and a little more too, thanks to the addition of extra waveforms (apart from Sine and Triangular) that are by tradition not used in regular chorus units such as Saw, Square and Random.

This translates into chorus tones with a “rhythmic” edge. A “Phase adjust” knob is provided for widening up the chorus sound, plus a “Wave invert” function adds some more flexibility to your modulations.

The Chorus Box is fully automatable and has the ability to store 32 presets. It ships with a few already pre programmed ones that will show what its all about and may be the starting point to your individual creations.

Installation procedure: Unzip the file, then copy the DLL’s into your VstPlugins folder.

Chorrosive

Chorrosive is a free distortion VST plugin developed by BetabugsAudio. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Chorrosive is a simple device: it accepts audio in, “runs it through various types of battery acid”, and drops it out the other side. The ‘Battery Acid’ is comprised of a chorus unit, band pass filter and transistor emulation, applied to the incoming audio in varying degrees.

Common usage is via the Large Friendly Dial on the front. Turn it up to stir the acid; turn it down to retrieve your original signal.

ChordworX takes a single note and triggers up to 7 notes to make up complete chords/arps. There are 98 pre made chords including various inversions ranging from standard min/maj/dominants to more Jazzier diminished and augmented chords, you can also add your own.

ChordworX works best in modular hosts like EnergyXT but can also be used in any host that sends MIDI to effect plugins.

ChordSpace is a plug-in that generates MIDI chords. No knowledge of theory is needed to use it; you simply click around until you find a progression that works for you. ChordSpace has a palette of over 200 chords per key, all logically laid out so that great progressions are easy.

ChordMem Pro is the enhanced version of the free ChordMem, a MIDI chord memory and trigger plug-in.

It features 12 Chords per preset to be recorded and then played back by the single keys of an octave or the buttons of any MIDI controller.

Chordian for Kontakt 5

Chordian for Kontakt 5 virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Kontakt, by Homegrown Sounds.

Chordian is a MIDI Sequencer designed to work with the Kontakt 5 MIDI output. It is a variation on Procession but with more of an emphasis on stacking pitches and lacks the CC implementation.

Chordian dispenses with 3 of Processions Trigger Sequencers but keeps the pitch Sequencers so that all 4 Sequences are played via a global trigger sequencer. The idea is that in Simple Mode you can easily line up all sequencers to see what is playing across the steps and it is therefore much easier to build Chord type sequences. Polyrhythmic operation is still possible however when Simple mode is switched off, except that it is just the pitches that are Polyrhythmic.

It still keeps most of the features from Procession such as the Scale Remapper, individual Length%, Velocity%, tuning capabilities, the file Browser and the Randomizers. It can even load Procession sequences using the ‘A’ sequence for triggering, and on the other side Chordian presets can be loaded into Procession.

All Notes are run through the Scale Remapper which forces notes to a custom Scale which can be built over 24 semitones using the Scale keyboard, or by using one of the 80 internal Scales.
