Footile is the remix of a VST effect by Novuzeit, Motile. Motile and Footile share the same serial-multi-fx concept and sound architecture but with a different modulation system.
In Footile, the effects parameters can be tweaked on four different “scenes”. Each scene is shown (colour coded) as a corner of an XY pad in the middle of the interface, so moving the cursor will morph each scene into the others.
Furthermore, morphing can be modulated with independent and mixable LFOs, sequencers, envelope followers, randomizers (s/h), operating on X or Y axis or both at host-synchronized rates.Inspired by a certain quest for failure, Footile can be pretty unsubtle. It will treat signals with the following FX chain: pitch shifter-bitrate crusher-psycho-grains-glitch-metal-filter-control. Every effect can be deactivated and mixed at will.
Footile comes with 32 “unsuccessful” presets.

Have a folder of samples lying around just waiting to be mapped and used? We had this utility built in order to allow rapid and effective mapping of large sample sets to the SFZ 2.0 format, and figured we might as well make it public. Capable of working with over a dozen naming conventions (and customizable to work with almost any others imaginable), this tool is a handy bridge into SFZ creation for both seasoned and amateur library developers:
- Rapid mapping of large sets of raw samples as .sfz format.
- Automated mapping of velocities, pitches, and RR’s.
- Flexible, customizable dictionary system allows usage with almost any naming convention.
- Able to manage missing RR, varying numbers of velocity layers, and all sorts of flaws.
- Semi-regularly updated.

The FMOD Ex Programmer’s API and Designer are a library and toolkit for the creation and playback of interactive audio. FMOD products are widely used in the games industry and have gained a strong reputation for its ease of use, powerful software-mixed architecture and comprehensive cross-platform support.
FMOD supports many hardware platforms – including the latest ‘next gen’ consoles. FMOD is actively developed, with regular releases of new features. Many new requested features have been provided to customers in a very short turnaround – if you want a new feature, just ask.
The FMOD Ex sound system is an audio engine for game developers, multimedia developers, sound designers, musicians and audio engineers. FMOD Ex is intended to push the creative boundaries of audio implementation for games and the like, whilst using minimal resources and being fully scalable.
DSP Software Architecture
The FMOD mixing architecture starts with an audio engine that uses floating point calculations with full 32-bit interpolation to provide maximum sound quality and headroom when summing signals. Using a node based architecture, FMOD Ex provides flexible routing, sub-mixing and output channel choices to the programmer. Input channels can be mapped to any output channel through a simple 2D matrix. Output to mono, stereo, 5.1, 7.1 and Dolby Pro Logic or Pro Logic 2 with ease.
Included with the API is a whole suite of 14 DSP effects, such as echo, chorus, reverb, etc. which can be applied throughout the DSP mixing network.
Advanced Compressed Sample and Streaming Support
FMOD Ex includes advanced support for compressed sample formats such as mp2, mp3, ADPCM and XMA. Compressed samples can be looped or sequenced with other samples, without gaps, clicks or other artifacts. Developers do not have to worry about anything to do with the destination format, FMOD’s encoder will just handle it perfectly for you every time.
Advanced streaming engine supports low CPU overhead, multiple stream support, over-ridable file callbacks and more.
File Format Support
FMOD supports a huge range of audio file formats including: wav, midi, mp3, XMA, ogg and mod just to name a few. You can even add your own codecs via FMOD Ex’s plug-in support. FMOD Ex can play audio files with up to 16 channels.
Create realistic soundscapes
Supply 3D positions for the sound source and listener and FMOD Ex will automatically apply volume, filtering, surround panning and Doppler effect to mono, stereo and even multichannel samples. Transition between calculated positioning and sound designer defined positioning using 2D/3D pan morphing. For even greater audio realism use FMOD Ex’s:
- Choice between linear, logarithmic and custom rolloff curves.
- Custom geometry engine to add polygon scenes (FMOD Ex will factor in obstruction/occlusion).
- 3D reverbs to blend transitions between environments with different ambience.
The software mixer even has a ‘HRTF’ (Head-Related Transfer Function) mode to provide 3D realism through headphones.
Virtual Voices
Virtual voices to allow a game to play thousands of sounds at once on limited hardware without worrying about handling the logic to switch sounds off and on. FMOD Ex provides voice management using 3D distance and priority properties.
Platform Support
FMOD Ex has a large range of supported hardware, including:
- Windows (32-bit and 64-bit).
- Macintosh (PPC and x86).
- Linux (32-bit and 64-bit).

FMMF is a 4-operator FM (Frequency Modulation) synthesizer. It came third in the KVR Developer Challenge 2009.
FMMF has 2 primary aims:
- Make FM synthesis as accessible and user-friendly as possible.
- Use multi-stage envelopes and LFOs to give lots of movement and modulation.
The waveforms, algorithms and envelopes are all shown graphically, with the envelopes allowing dragging of nodes and clicking to change contour. Special attention has been paid to the envelopes to allow you to customise them in many ways, such as the number of stages, the contour of each stage, sustain and repeat points and tempo-sync. There are envelopes for the volume of each operator, the pitch, and the effects section (filter, distortion and delay) all with velocity and key tracking. Further modulation comes in the form of LFOs for the pitch and effects section, with many waveforms including randomising.
For further sound design potential you have a low pass filter, a multi-mode distortion and a flexible delay (with comb delay option). An arpeggiator lets you add even more movement to create rhythmic sequences.
The default preset bank was created by sound designer brian botkiller and shows off the potential of FMMF to make atmospheric pads and leads with lots of movement, big fat bass sounds, funky arps and oddball sound fx.
Features:
- 4 Operator FM Synthesis instrument with 17 FM algorithms.
- 11 different waveforms per operator, with note sync option.
- 7 Multi-segment Envelopes (up to 32 stages) for amp, pitch and effects modulation · 3 LFOs for pitch and effects modulation.
- All envelopes can be free or tempo-sync, each stage can have its own contour.
- Envelopes can have user defined sustain and repeat points with flexible locking and zeroing options.
- LFOs can be free or tempo sync, with 20 waveforms and phase & note sync options.
- Each LFO has its own ADSR envelope.
- Arpeggiator with 6 modes and adjustable tempo-sync, note length and octave range.
- Resonant low pass filter with key and velocity tracking, can be modulated by envelopes or LFOs.
- Distortion effect with 18 flavours, can be modulated by envelopes or LFOs.
- Delay with comb delay option, size, feedback and damping, modulated by envelope or LFO.
- Harmonics can be adjusted from 1 to 256, with limit on frequency beyond Nyquist.
- Polyphony adjustable from 1 to 16 voices.
- Portamento time.
- 64 presets by brian botkiller covering many styles.
