Groove Analogizer

Groove Analogizer is an “Audio Controlled Drum Synthesizer”. Working like a vintage electronic drum tone generator the percussion sound is triggered by an audio signal, not by a MIDI message.

Groove Analogizer loads as a VST effect, usually in an insert slot, and features three oscillators that can be triggered and shaped by the audio input. A trigger can be any kind of percussive sound, both mono or stereo – it can be a.wav file or another VST instrument for example.

For each of the three generators you can choose left, right or left+right input – input can be both mono or stereo. A band pass filter allows you to select which frequency range of the audio source will be used for triggering, so you can separate hi, mid and low tones in the audio input, allowing you to isolate different trigger patterns from the same complex audio source. Groove Analogizer also features Pre-Listening, so that you can monitor which part of the source is selected as trigger.

The Sensitivity control allows you to select the loudest triggers filtered by the band pass – so that you may include ghost notes or avoid them.

Grooove BPB is a freeware drum sampler based on the Grooove virtual instrument by brunsandspork. It features six dual drum pads, each capable of holding up to two samples simultaneously. The volume, pan, pitch, start time, and length can be adjusted individually for each loaded sample.

The modulation panel features eleven modulation targets per drum pad. These can be modulated via MIDI note velocity, or with the built-in LFO. The instrument can operate as a VST2, VST3, and AU plugin on PC and Mac. It can also work in standalone mode.

A set of 150 drum samples is included with the instrument, along with a collection of 14 built-in drum kits. These can be expanded using external samples. Users can also export their custom kits for later use.

Gratis IR virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Iris, by Homegrown Sounds.

Gratis IR, as the name suggests, is a completely free collection of pads for iZotope Iris which is equal to half of one of the paid collections. Although some samples are used from the other Iris releases, the actual Iris instruments are all unique to Gratis IR.

The instruments were constructed using 1-3 samples and take full advantage of the spectral features of Iris, and most have Aftertouch assigned to the Filter Cutoff. The intention was to provide musically useful pads full of texture and movement. All 100 WAVs that form the Gratis Sample collection are also available to explore when creating your own sounds:
