hD is a free overdrive and saturation Audio Unit plugin developed by Music Unfolding. Compatible OS(s): macOS.

hD is a distortion effect with harmonic generators. It can generate two pitch-shifted copies of up to two octaves above the input signal – the volume level of the two voices can be set independently. hD also has a sub-octave generator. hD’s design uses its harmonic generators to enhance the distortion. The two harmonic voices are mixed into the signal before the distortion stage. The sub-octave generator algorithm was developed specifically for hD. It is latency-free. hD can also be used to generate 12-string guitar effects and as a note doubler.

RhyGenerator One is the simplified version of RhyGenerator, an Euclidean step sequencer made by HoRNet Plugins together with the electronic music artist HATEFISh. The sequencer is designed to distribute as evenly as possible a certain number of “beats” in given number of “steps”.

Simply put, with RhyGenerator One you can create a rhythm, consisting of up to 32 steps, it comes in the standard VSTi for VST and VST3, as an instrument for AAX and a MIDI effect for the AU version.

RhyGenerator One outputs the specified note following the rhythm generated by the Euclidean algorithm and allows you to control the number of steps and beats separately, the velocity and the length of the note. You can also shift the sequence of any number of steps to create upbeats and movement, every parameter in the sequencer can be automated for a more interesting effect.

Harsh Digital Nose is a synthesizer that converts two images into two oscillator waveforms and then mixes them in various horrible ways. You can drag and drop images or draw them on the plugin in real time.

The Basics
There are two image-based oscillators. The knobs between them apply to the second image, based on the first image. There is then a third oscillator that plays ordinary waveforms, which can be modulated by the image oscillators. The “M” button below each pitch knob toggles on/off the oscillator pitch following input MIDI notes. The little green and red dots on the images are the start and end points of the oscillator waveform. Colors in the images do “something” (???).

Harpex-B is a high-resolution surround processor for soundfield recordings. Available both as a plug-in and a stand-alone player, these tools make an already versatile surround and stereo recording technique even more interesting.

Soundfield microphones have gained a faithful following since their introduction thirty years ago and are today offered by several manufacturers. They are commonly used both as compact stereo microphones and surround microphones. They already provide more post-production possibilities than any other portable recording technique.

With the introduction of Harpex-B, several new and useful possibilities become available:

Precise rendering of the frontal stage in 5.1 surround with good channel separation.

Emulating non-coincident microphone techniques like ORTF or AB with a single, compact microphone unit.

Adjusting the ratio between reverberant and direct sound.

Emulating high-resolution 3D dummy head recordings.

Isolating sound sources through sharp spatial filtering.

B-format is the standard surround format for soundfield microphones. While conversion between B-format and other formats has always been possible, the spatial resolution has been limited to that of first-order microphones. This is insufficient for the frontal stage of 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 speaker layouts. High-resolution processors make use of advanced signal processing that mimics the kind of spatial analysis that a human listener uses to separate and localize the many sound sources in a complex sound scene. This results in a level of channel separation and spatial definition that has never been possible before.

Creates harmonic resonances by pitch shifting the dominant frequencies in your input signal by the various intervals in the harmonic series (octave, octave+fifth, two octaves, two octaves+major third etc).
