Inspire CC is a stereo or multi out sample based synth with four channels, each having its own sound source, controls and options. Although designed primarily to produce rich pads Inspire CC is capable of shorter sounds such as bass and other hard attack sounds.

The Dome randomises all four channels simultaneously or specific parts of each channel. Apart from the Domes centre it has intentionally been left unstated what other areas randomise to introduce absolute chance and maybe inspire new musical pieces as a result – see the general help picture. Obviously through trial and error it can be discovered what each part of the Dome randomises, if that is so desired.

The random sweep generators (RSG) for each of the four channels create sweeps of varying speed and tonality. The master random sweep generators do exactly the same as the RSGs but for all four channels simultaneously, creating different sweeps for each channel. The generated sweeps can be so subtle as to be almost imperceptible, powerfully dramatic or anywhere between the two. There are also sweep templates to aid the creation of custom sweeps. Sweeps can be turned off for each channel by disabling the filter envelope resulting in a regular low/high pass filter.

Using only the Dome and the random sweep generators it’s quick and easy to create useful presets for Inspire CC.

All audio demos were created using only one instance of Inspire CC (with added drums).

Why 32-bit VST only? Many third party SynthEdit modules were used to create Inspire CC and, unfortunately, there are no 64-bit versions of the modules.

Inspiration is an application developed to stimulate the creativity of music composers.

Influenced by Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies, and techniques described in several books about songwriting, Inspiration allows its users to get random, more or less abstract advice that can provide ways to handle the blank page syndrome, new “cooking recipes” to create music in general, ideas to develop or finish your last song, write a lot of music in a short time, take different musical paths…

Considering Inspiration as another software adaptation of Brian Eno’s Oblique Strategies is wrong:

Indeed, those advice items are gathered together like the Oblique Strategies, but also other thematic sets like the Horizontal Strategies from -musicalentropy for example, the Frustrated Songwriter’s Strategies, the Advancing Guitarist strategies, and others.

The advice items are classified and can be filtered with numerous tags, allowing the users to target specific needs at specific moments. Some examples of these tags : musical instruments like the guitar, the drums or keyboards, various abstraction levels, themes like motivation, harmony, rehearsals, sampling, the development of existing ideas etc.

Moreover, a special editor is included, allowing users to create their own sets, with an efficient and ergonomic interface. With this functionality, you can :

Create your own advice sets, corresponding to your needs, your personality, and the way you work.

Share your own advice sets with all the users of Inspiration.

Fill a list of composition ideas, new tracks or concepts you would like to work on in the future.

Have a work plan for your preferred musical instrument, full of random exercises to do or existing songs to include to your musical repertoire.

Optimize your 20-songs game sessions, as described in the book “The Frustrated Songwriter’s Handbook” by Nicholas Dobson and Karl Coryat.

Anyway, be careful about the various things Inspiration can not do :

Play any musical instrument for you.

Take all the credits of the music you have created thanks to its advice.

Fill a lack of technical competences and/or a lack of musical knowledge.

Creating drum samples from scratch can be very time consuming and it’s surely not for everyone but luckily for me it turned out that designing sounds, finding new effect chains and just experimenting with sound is something that I dig nearly as much as producing music. The idea of this kit was born in early 2015 when I decided to create some really dope drum samples for myself. I wanted to have something good enough so I don’t have to shift thru tons of drums, mess with advanced layering or have to put effects on my samples right after loading them into sampler just to make it sound good every time I want to lay down some drums. To be honest, there’s a lot of drum samples which sound excellent right out of the box, but most of them are focused more on modern sound which is great (and I’m often in need of those kind of sounds) but for me, there’s nothing better than good quality, juicy, old school sounding drums with a (little) modern twist. And that’s how I began creating my own library of hip hop drums.

So here it is, Influential Kit – it’s a mixture of samples which I’ve created for myself and samples created strictly for this library – it’s a quite big collection (500 drum samples) of dark, warm and noisy / dirty samples aimed for hip-hop producers. It’s all original material (all source material for this pack was recorded or synthesized by me), you won’t find here any reused samples from other kits available on the internet.

I think it’s a dope product and I hope that you’ll think the same, but enough with the words – feel free to listen to some demos that I’ve created for this drum kit and don’t forget to check out the free version Influential Kit LITE – it contains 50 samples from the full version.
