GClip

GClip is a free waveshaper VST plugin developed by GVST. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS, Linux.

GClip is a wave-shaping signal clipper. It prevents the input signal level from exceeding a specified maximum. The clipping function used can be altered to have a hard- or soft-knee.

A graph showing the shape of the clipping function is displayed on the GUI. There is also a wave display that shows what effect the clipping curve is having on the signal.

Driveshaper

Driveshaper is a free waveshaper VST plugin developed by Synthescience. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

The Driveshaper is an input sensitive Foldback Distortion, a great depart from what we commonly know and hear from traditional Distortion/Overdrive units, this one bearing the peculiarity of imprinting more of a Growly, FM’ish tone to what you throw at it. One can devise it as a special member from the Distortion family.

The Driveshaper is fully automatable and has the ability to store 64 presets. It ships with a few already pre programmed ones that will show what its all about.

Installation procedure: Unzip the file, then copy the DLLs into your VstPlugins folder.

Distortion

Distortion is a distortion effect plug-in based on a graphical interface. You can draw the distortion function that shapes the nature of the distortion.

It includes:

Presets.

4x oversampling to reduce aliasing created by the non-linear function.

5 movable dots to shape the distortion function.

Drive knob to choose the amount of distortion.

Output gain knob to compensate for any gain increase due to the drive or the distortion function.

Output low-pass filter knob to reduce any harsh high-frequency.

Mono/stereo input to mono/dual-mono (not stereo) output.

Battery Acid

Battery Acid is a free bit crusher and waveshaper VST plugin developed by DarkWare. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Battery Acid was inspired by a deteriorated car battery. It uses a set of dual bitcrushers and waveshapers to completely erode your music to “delightful dilapidation”. Each stereo channel can be crushed and mutilated individually. You can “dissolve” and “melt” as well as “corrode” and “erode”, plus you can set the cutoff and resonance.
