Spicy Guitar

Spicy Guitar free software-synthesizer by Keolab

Spicy Guitar is a free software synthesizer developed by Keolab. Available format(s): VST, Audio Unit for Windows 64b, macOS.

Spicy Guitar is an innovative acoustic guitar simulation software. Relying on a brand new technology, Spicy Guitar lets you generate realistic guitar parts as well as original string-based sounds.

Overview:

  • The character of 9 real guitars has been captured and a wide range of guitarist’s playing techniques, from vibrato to palm muting. Because it is based on a full physical modeling of the guitar, the characteristics of the instruments – such as the body size or the strings’ material – can be changed in real-time. It offers to the user a lot of sound possibilities.
  • Spicy Guitar has a chords detection system that converts piano chords into guitar chords and automatically strums them, which makes the creation of complex rhythms easy.

SpectrumAnalyzer

SpectrumAnalyzer free spectrum-analyzer by SIR Audio Tools

SpectrumAnalyzer is a free spectrum analyzer VST, VST3, Audio Unit, AAX plugin developed by SIR Audio Tools. Compatible OS(s): Windows 64b, macOS.

SpectrumAnalyzer is a spectrum analyzer plugin that offers a lot of opportunities to display the spectral content of your audio material, which helps you create a better mix. SpectrumAnalyzer comes in two editions, a free and a full version.

SpectrumAnalyzer has a FFT (Fast-Fourier-Transform) and an analog-style (parallel band-pass IIR filter) engine, both of which can run simultaneously. So you can benefit from the more accurate time resolution of the band-pass filters and the better frequency resolution of the FFT at the same time. Check out the intelligent peak-detection, which automatically detects resonant frequency peaks in the signal. Use the snapshot function to easily save the current state of your analyzer, so you can compare the spectral profile of your current project with other songs. SpectrumAnalyzer also includes a VU-Meter (with peak and RMS measurement) and a Stereo Correlation Meter.

SpectrumAnalyzer features an auxiliary feature that makes it possible to send audio from one SpectrumAnalyzer instance into other instances. This is a quite powerful tool, because you can set up as much aux-sends as you want, and then you can easily switch between them as input source. For example, you have different subgroups and want to see the spectrum of all of them in one SpectrumAnalyzer instance: put a single SpectrumAnalyzer instance on every track and activate the aux-send. Now you can comfortably switch between these aux-channels in your master SpectrumAnalyzer instance. In the full version, you can open up to 4 slots in one plugin instance.

SpectrumAnalyzer has nearly endless adjustment possibilities. To name a few: FFT-Size & Window. Number of Bands/Filter-Steepness and Bandwidth (analog style bandpass analyzer). Time Resolution & Release speed. Optional Peak Hold and intelligent Peak Detection. Spectral RMS with adjustable integration. Mid and Side Signal detection. Adjustable Colors, two different spectral smoothing algorithms. Display Range and Slope/dB. Adjustable GUI size and scaling. Optional gradient and shadow effects.

SpectriX

ZynAddSubFX free software-synthesizer by paulnasca 2

SpectriX is a free exciter and enhancer VST plugin developed by Obertone Audio. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

SpectriX is designed for mastering and simply enhances treble. It can also be use to reconstruct high frequencies on MP3 files and tape recordings which are lost due to high compression rates.

Most exciters work well on monophonic material but on polyphonic material they often create inter-modulation-distortion which is audible as “frizzle-noise” and treble “bursts”. Spectrix is different – it is designed to work well with all kinds of audio material: Speech, monophonic sounds and complex polyphonic mixes.

NOTE: SpectriX uses the hosts’s default GUI.

Spectrum Analyzer free spectrum-analyzer by Seven Phases

Spectrum Analyzer is a free spectrum analyzer VST plugin developed by Seven Phases. Compatible OS(s): Windows.

Spectrum Analyzer is a real-time spectrum analysis VST plugin. The idea was to create an old-fashioned tool reminiscent of classic hardware analyzers of the earlier centuries. Unlike most of other analyzers available these days, this plugin is not FFT-based but utilizes a filter-bank algorithms that mould its unique pros and cons.

Features:

  • 1/3, 1/4 or 1/6 octave mode (30, 40 or 60 bands respectively).
  • Simultaneous peak, peak-hold and average (RMS) display.
  • Bar, Curve and Curve Fill modes.
  • Entirely adjustable ballistics.
  • Unrestrictedly resizable display window.
  • Customizable colors.
  • Supports any sample rate.

Spectral Growl Wavetables for Xfer Serum

Spectral Growl Wavetables for Xfer Serum free soundbank by ARTFX STUDIOS

Spectral Growl Wavetables for Xfer Serum virtual instrument is a free sound bank for Serum, by ARTFX STUDIOS.

Thanks to Steve Duda and Xfer Records for creating this insane new softsynth called ‘Serum’. This pack is just a little gift from me, 15 free and customizable wavetables for this softsynth. The wavetables are aimed at making twisting bass and growl patches, so be careful since things can get quite nasty.

To use these wavetables you need to find your ‘Serum Presets’ folder where all your presets are stored. In this folder find the folder ‘Tables’ and then go to ‘User’, past the .WAV files in that folder and the next time you launch Serum you can select these wavetables in the main oscillators.

Have fun producing. Oh and if you make something with these feel free to send me it, I’m always interested in hearing these end results.

Spectral Eye

Spectral Eye free oscilloscope by Secret Base Design

Spectral Eye is a free oscilloscope plugin developed by Secret Base Design. Compatible OS(s): iOS.

Spectral Eye analyzes incoming audio signals to extract the underlying frequencies. Most sounds are built up from a variety of sine waves; a simple whistle might be a single wave, while a guitar, piano, or the human voice have many waves added together.

By using a Fast Fourier Transform, sound can be decomposed into each frequency. Normally, this information is displayed on a chart, and there are number of excellent apps that do exactly this. Spectral Eye rearranges the FFT into a spiral, so that frequencies that are an octave apart are lined up as rays from the center of the display. The strength of each frequency is represented by the size of a red circle.

Play music, and Spectral Eye will reveal the frequencies. For a guitar, it’s easy to see that in addition to the root frequency of a note, there are also a number of harmonic frequencies — and these change based on the strings used, the pickups, and the amplification system. It’s the frequencies present in the notes that make a Telecaster sound different from a Les Paul, and a piano different from a trumpet. Play an instrument, music from your iTunes library, or have it listen to whatever sounds are nearby — the display is fun to watch.

If you’re interested in understanding the nature of sound, use Spectral Eye to get a better view. The app was created as a utility used in the development in other Secret Base Design apps; we’re making it freely available, because we found it to be useful, and thought others might like it too.

The app will remain free, and will not have ads. If you find it useful, we would very much appreciate a review in the app store, and you can get in touch with us through our support site, our Facebook page, or Twitter.

Have fun with the app, and we hope you enjoy opening your Spectral Eye!
